Artur Kroschel

Born in 1973 in Szamotuły (Poland), graduated with distinction from I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied composition with
Prof. Jan Astriab

• Konkurs Kompozytorski im. Adama Didura (Adam Didur Composer Competition) in Sanok, Poland (2000, distinction),
• Konkurs Młodych Kompozytorów im. Tadeusza Bairda (Tadeusz Baird Young Composer Competition) in Warsaw, Poland (2002, distinction),
• 3rd International Forum for Young Composers in Chalon-sur-Saône, France (2004),
• 10th Weimarer Frühjahrstage für zeitgenössische Musik in Weimar, Germany (2009, Third Prize
in Orchestral Piece Composer Competition).

Artur Kroschel was a jury member in composers’ competitions in Poland and in Germany.

Artur Kroschel was holder of grant from the Minister of Arts and Culture. Former Secretary
of the Board of Polish Composer Association’s Young Composer Section (2001-2002), he was Deputy Chairman of the Association’s Poznań branch (2008-2021). He was Artistic Director of Międzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Współczesnej Poznańska Wiosna Muzyczna (International Contemporary Music Festival Poznań Musical Spring) between 2012 and 2021 , he is also co-founder of Sepia Ensemble, which specialises in the performance of contemporary music. In 2009, 2012 and 2018, he was awarded the Rector’s Prize by I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań; in 2010, he received the honorary distinction of Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej (For Distinguished Service to Polish Culture) from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage; in 2018, the bronze Medal za Długoletnią Służbę (Medal for Long Service) from Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland. In the same year, he was awarded the Laur Starosty Szamotulskiego (Laurel of the Leader of Szamotuły County) in the category of Culture.
In 2015, Artur Kroschel was awarded post-doctoral degree at the Academy of Music in Kraków in the artistic discipline of Composition and Theory of Music, with the area of specialisation in Composition.
Professor of I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, he heads the Academy’s Chair of Composition.
